My Birthday

margarksI never post to my dreamwidth account but I know a lot of people have moved over to this site from LJ (maybe you are all still around?). And I don't know how to do the thing where you post on one and it gets copies to the other... so I'm just literally copying a post I did over on LJ here because I would like if possible to reach my goal for my birthday. So -
Hey guys. My 40th Birthday (eep!) is coming up next month and I'm doing a charity water donation thingy. If anyone would like to donate any amount at all, I set my goal to what I think is reasonably high ($500), but I would LOVE to get more than that.

I can't imagine living in a place where I couldn't get clean water. Even in the US, where our tap water (for the most part if you discount the fracking areas) is safe to drink, we typically get additional purifiers (we have a Pur water pitcher). And I drink like 10 glasses a day. I can't imagine not being able to do that. To have to walk 10 miles a day to get enough water not just to drink but to wash your clothes and yourself, etc.
I think it's sad to still have places like this. So, any donation would be appreciated!
