So, finally posting about my comic con trip. This was my 2nd year going to San Diego Comic Con with my niece. We were both way more laid back this year than we were the first year. Like we tried to do everything the first day and were basically exhausted the rest of the time, lol, but still tried to do everything.
This year was a lot less chaotic for us, and it felt like it was a little bit slower/less people this year. It also felt like there were less panels we wanted to go see. I was surprised that Marvel didn't even have any panels and that was the weekend that Fantastic Four came out. Seems like they would have had one at least, but I don't know what the cost of something like that is and maybe they didn't think it was worth it this year.
My niece is big on Percy Jackson, both the books and tv shows (but NEVER MENTION THE MOVIES), and so we were able to go see the tv panel in Hall H. I also was able to see (most, missed the first 10 min or so) of the Project Hail Mary panel in Hall H. That looks like a good movie! They showed lots of clips and I love Ryan Gosling. The book was so good too, so I'm excited the movie looks decent. The Martian followed the book pretty closely, so I'm hopefully that since Andy Weir is involved in this movie too, it will be the same.
I enjoy seeing all the art whenever we go to any comic cons, so I like walking the floor even though it was pretty crowded and I hate people, lol. I was kind of broke this last month (and this month) though, so I wasn't really able to buy anything. I wanted to find some bookmarks because I always feel like those are good & useful souvenirs and relatively cheap, but I didn't see any that I liked enough to spend money on.
Those were really the two main panels we wanted to see. I would have wanted to see the Star Trek universe Hall H panel and there was a Long Walk tv show one, and that is one of my favorite Stephen King books, but it takes sitting in line for hours to get into Hall H and I felt like Project Hail Mary was the only one really worth the wait.
Otherwise it was a pretty good trip.
